Illustrated Narratives using watercolor resist

Students were asked to write a story and then create ten scenes as a sort of outline of the story.

These illustrations were completed as small sketches ("thumbnails") in their art sketchbooks. Primarily students used the watercolor and crayon resist process to illustrate their scenes.

Throughout the semester, these sketches were used as the basis for introducing or emphasizing a different art element or principle.

At the end of the semester the students bound the pages into a book.
